CentreCourt, has submitted a zoning bylaw amendment application the City of Toronto to allow for a new residential building at 199 Church Street north of Shuter. The plan calls for the construction of a 37-storey condo tower with 478 units.
Designed by IBI Group, the tower plays off the brick finish of the heritage buildings below with red brick columns between columns of windows. A cantilevered crown begins at the 29th floor and hangs over the south side of the tower. The building would house 79 studio apartments, 266 one-bedrooms, 82 two-bedrooms, and 51 three-bedrooms. The developer has limited underground parking to 67 stalls.
